What I do

Jen is a scientific research developer for the Geographic Information Network of Alaska (GINA) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Jen works on a variety of science projects in a variety of programming languages. These projects are focused on Alaskan arctic climatological and hydrological processes. Currently, Jen is serving as an instrument mentor for Arctic precipitation measurements for the Department of Energy Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Program. She is also the Principal Investigator on the Imiq Hydroclimate Database and Data Portal project. As well, Jen contributes to the Next-Generation Ecosystem Experiments (NGEE) Arctic program and the development of a new Alaska Thermokarst Model.


Jen has an undergraduate degree in physics from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In addition to working for GINA since 2013, Jennifer has recently worked for Atmospheric and Environmental Research, Inc. supporting the development of the high-performance broadband radiation code RRTMGP.
